Legambiente is an Italian, non-profit association created in 1980 for the safeguard and the sound management of the environment and for the promotion of sustainable lifestyle, production systems and use of resources.
Legambiente gives prior attention to the problems deriving from environment and urban degradation, to energy issues and the development of the renewable sources and to the links between economy and the environment, has a constant interest in educating people on environmental issues. Among its main activities there are:
•    National Lobbying and Campaigning
•    Environmental Education
•    Volunteer Workcamps
•    Environment and Legal Issues
At the national level, its most important activities are information and monitoring campaigns, which combine scientific analysis of environmental quality with public awareness and mobilisation to protect the environment.
Most important Campaigns are: Goletta verde, Treno verde, Fiuminforma e Salvalarte an occasion to raise awareness among citizens and to push insitutions and local authorities to commit in order to achieve effective changes towards a sustainable development.
