PARTNER The Environment Councillorship fulfils the functions delegated to the Liguria Region connected to biodiversity and to Natura 2000 network. Among the Region competences there are: • administrating sites of the Natura 2000 network; • monitoring species and habitats of community interest; • ensuring the institution of regional, provincial and local parks authorities; • distributing grants for expenditure and investment in favour of the commissions that manage protected areas; • coordinating activities in the system of protected areas in Liguria Region. For some time now, the Liguria Region is following a strategy of preserving the natural beauty and the traditions of Liguria by carefully exploiting and revaluating the territory and adequately protecting the environment.
